Taotha Community School

Science in Our World

JANUARY 24 - 28 | NORDEGG

In our residency with Trickster Theatre, we will develop a project centered on “Science in Our World”. The students will work to incorporate science activities into their daily lives and experiences. Some of the topics that classes might explore are how did the Stoney peoples use science in their daily lives (then and now), what it means to be stewards of the land in today’s society, the kinds of challenges that both Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples face in their relationships with one another, and exploring some of the hopes that Indigenous communities have for their future. We will involve local Elders and Knowledge Keepers when we are gathering our information and perspectives; in this way, we will involve our entire community in the conversation taking place.
