Kindness is our JAM!

May 12-16 | Edmonton

Grades K-6

During our residency, we’re creating pieces centered around kindness that will instill empathy and compassion in our students. We are striving to foster a supportive and inclusive school community. By emphasizing acts of kindness through activities and discussions, students will learn valuable interpersonal skills and contribute positively to their environment. This focus on kindness can ripple outward, promoting a culture of respect and understanding within the broader community.

The Masks We Wear

April 21-25 | Jasper

Grades K-6

During our Trickster residency week centered on “The Masks We Wear – Awareness & Acceptance,” every student will participate in creative processes like writing, choreography, and costume design alongside professional artists. This theme emphasizes Mental Health Awareness & Acceptance, aiming to unite our school community in understanding and supporting peers dealing with issues like anxiety and depression. By normalizing these discussions and experiences, students will build empathy and create a supportive environment where differences are celebrated and strengths are recognized, ultimately fostering a culture of inclusivity and mutual respect.

At Wabamun School, our residency theme “The Still Waters” reflects our commitment to inclusive education and fostering a culture of belonging.  We believe there’s more depth to Wabamun than meets the eye. We want students and community members to appreciate the rich heritage of the Wabamun area, embracing the idea that “still waters run deep” as we explore and celebrate our local history and culture.
