WEST SPRINGS

Listening to the Land

SEPT 19-23 | Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement

Grades K-6

West Springs school is located in the SW quadrant of Calgary. They are on the outskirts of the city and have a close connection to the land as they are located near a wetland and classes spend time there investing their surroundings and learning about the land.

Working with Trickster, West Springs school wanted to integrate listening to the land and the representation of animals to traits. Bringing in some of the 7 grandfather teachings, West Spring students will take this opportunity to “Listen to the Land” and investigate how they impact their surroundings.
