ST MARY

Searching For Joy

Dec 12-16 | Beaverlodge

Grades K-9 | 290 Students

Being located in northern Alberta providing opportunities to experience theatre and art is almost impossible, without a drama teacher the arts are something students very rarely have access too. St Mary School and Trickster Theatre strongly believe that theatre experiences increases student confidence and can have a great impact on literacy levels and addressing speech concerns. The residency will be a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with the community and our aim is to have the community be a part of the performance, having 1-2 community members taking part at all grade levels.  Together we will uncover the meaning of joy and how to find supports when connections fail. The show will look at a wide variety of things that bring us joy, whether it is the re-discovery of simple things, the joy of helping others, learning new things, friends and family, being in nature, creating art, and so much more, with a strong focus on the joy of being part of a community.
